Terms of Service
These terms apply when you hire buildweb.agency to build or maintain a website. They're meant to be straightforward — if anything here doesn't make sense, ask us.
1. Agreement
By hiring us for a project, you agree to these Terms alongside whatever proposal, quote, or scope document we've agreed on together for that specific project. Where the two conflict, the specific project agreement takes priority.
2. Our services
We build websites — blogs, business sites, online stores, and landing pages. If you already have a design, we can build from it. If you don't, we can help you design it too, then build it. Every project is scoped and priced individually based on a conversation about what you need; we don't run fixed packages. What's included in your project — pages, features, revisions, timeline — is set out in your proposal.
3. How a project runs
Most projects follow the same shape: we talk through what you need, agree on scope and price, build the site while sharing progress along the way, and launch once you're happy with it. We'll keep you in the loop throughout rather than disappearing until the big reveal.
4. Payment
Most projects start with a deposit rather than full payment upfront. For some projects, we'll first put together a small example — a sample layout or style direction — before the real build begins, which may be done at no charge. Once you're ready to move ahead with the actual project, we ask for an initial payment to get started; this covers the time we put in early on and isn't the full amount. The remaining balance is due at agreed milestones or on completion. Once a project is fully paid, you get access to everything set out in your proposal. The exact structure depends on the type of project and what it needs, so the specifics are always laid out for your project directly.
5. Revisions and scope changes
Your proposal will include a reasonable number of revision rounds. Requests that go beyond the agreed scope — new pages, major feature additions, or a change in direction partway through — are treated as additional work and quoted separately before we start on them.
6. Ownership and handover
Once a project is paid in full, you own the final deliverables we built for you — the design and the code for your site. On request, we'll hand over source files (such as a Git repository) and any credentials for accounts specific to your project. If you'd rather we keep managing and updating your site for you after launch, we're happy to do that too — just let us know and we'll set that up separately. We may retain the right to showcase the finished work in our own portfolio unless you ask us not to. Any third-party tools, fonts, plugins, or stock assets used in your site remain subject to their own licenses.
7. Content you provide
If you give us text, images, logos, or other material to use on your site, you confirm you have the right to use it. You're responsible for any claim that arises from content you provided infringing someone else's rights.
8. Third-party services and ongoing support
Websites we build often rely on third-party services — hosting, domain registration, content management systems, and similar tools. Where you're responsible for an account (for example, your own hosting or domain), ongoing costs and access to that account are yours to manage unless we've agreed otherwise. Once your site is live, keeping it running (hosting uptime, renewals, updates) is your responsibility unless you have a separate maintenance agreement with us.
9. Cancellation
We hope every project runs smoothly to launch, but we understand plans change. If either of us needs to step away from a project before it's finished, we'll talk it through first — the goal is always a fair outcome for both sides. You'll be responsible for the work already completed up to that point, and any deposit paid covers the time and planning already put into your project.
10. Limitation of liability
We build every site to perform well, look great, and work smoothly across devices — and where it's part of your project, we also handle SEO to give your site the best foundation to be found. That said, some things sit outside what we can control or aren't part of our scope, including how much traffic your site gets, sales or conversion outcomes, promoting your business, running your social media, and providing ongoing content for the site.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ghana. Any disputes will first be handled through direct conversation between us before either party considers anything more formal.
